It's like a car accident. You don't want to see it, but you just have to look!
Thanks JH for ruining my day!! ;-)

Hi JH,
It's been a long time since I saw one of those forms. Thanks for the wave of bad memories!

ass!
ok, now that i have your attention let me tell you my situation.
for the past three days i have noticed blood coming out of my rectum.
Am I the only one who thinks things are way out of wack when people are seeking medical advice from strangers on the internet? When the doctors are done looking at your ass, maybe you should have them look at whether your brain needs some attention too.

i no longer have a need for my collection of materials, and thought i would offer it to the members of this board prior to ebay.. i would like to sell it "intact", but will entertain all serious offers.
a couple of books that are not on this list that i will throw in to the buyer ->miracle in stone - joseph siess - 1874 (reffered to by russel in the studies)communication with the spirit world of god - greber (1987 ed -- we all know about greber and the wtbs)miracle of the agese, the great pyramid - worth smith (1934 - autographed/inscribed by the author)pyramidology book 1- adam rutherford.
books range from good to excellent condition.
Simwitness,
Do the world a favor and burn that garbage. If you need money that bad, we'll start a collection for you.
Just kidding...
Seriously though, that is quite a collection of old literature. My friend and I had a great book burning party a couple of years ago with a similar collection. The only thing we didn't burn was the Studies in the Scriptures collection. I don't know if he still has them though.
Did you notice in the old Judge Boozerford books that he had pictures of Eve bare-breasted? I laughed my ass off when I saw that! I could just picture the teenage JW boys getting all excited studying for the meetings!! (On second thought, maybe a little porn would liven up the WT literature!)

i had the misfortune of looking through the june 8 2002 awake, and stumbled across an article on hawaiian luahas (pardon my spelling as i don't have it here in front of me).
the footnote said something along the lines of it originating with false religion, but now it's just considered a banquet, so many christians participate with a clean conscience.. wait a minute!.
what ever happened to "if it had pagan origins it's bad"?
Hi Undercover,
My point exactly. I am saving this rag, I mean mag, for the next time the topic of holidays or birthdays comes up (my son will be 1 in January, and we plan to have a birthday party for him)

My point is: couldn't that argument be used for more than Hawaiian luahas? Christmas has nothing to do with religion for a lot of people. It's just an excuse to exchange gifts and for familty to get together. That being the case, "many Christians" should be able to participate with a clean conscience.
How can you apply it to one situation, yet not apply it to others? (BTW, that's a rhetorical question; no need to try and answer it.)

What ever happened to "if it had pagan origins it's bad"? Couldn't this be applied to birthdays, New Years, even Christmas, since it's pagan origins are long forgotten?

Hi Geddy,
How about the time doing RV's with Jim Waddel while he slept in the back seat of his car, and we drove all over town. That was hilarious!!

Leave it to my friend Geddy to start a trend! Can you remember some of the names we used to use in the org.when we were younger? I remember we always referred to the hall as the Kingdom Small. We had a nickname for everything, and very few were flattering. And this was when we were both MS's.
Remember pointing old man Mancini down the street to go door knocking while we went for breakfast. We came back an hour later and he was about 3 territories away (still on the same street though).
Or the time we did the RV on the east end and spent about an hour playing cards and having lunch with that cute Lancaster girl next door? An hour later when we returned to the car, the morons waiting for us thought we had started a study! At least they got to count the time, because I think we rounded off the morning by "placing" a stack of mags with some bum on the street.
We sure made the best of a bad scene!! I guess we were fortunate enough to be able to find the humour in anything.

i have seen several threads about how the elders are going to be going around asking people if they still consider themselves to be jehovah's witnesses.
this will undoubtedly result in multiple da announcements in the coming months.
i'm curious how the average jw will perceive this and respond to it.
They honestly think people are going to contribute $80 to $120?? I never contributed anything at conventions. The way I saw it, they owed me for my time. You take time off work, you travel to some foreign town, you stay in a hotel, you eat out at restaurants, and you're supposed to pay more on top of this? Ya right.
GeddyLee,
I don't know the sloop personally, but I've seen his work. Maybe you'll meet up with him in Mexico next week.
Since you figured me out anyway, you have to admit this was a pretty funny alias!! Maybe some JW lurker from Ambassador will stumble on this site, see Stan Conroy posting, and the s**t will hit the fan!
